Galaxy Data Centers Signs Ground-Breaking £20m Renewables Deal in Partnership with Zendo

16 September 2025, London: Galaxy Data Centers, the global data center operator and advisory firm, has partnered with UK energy tech innovator Zendo to integrate clean energy into its Redhill Data Centre in Greater London and set new benchmarks for operational efficiency. Zendo has procured a £20m supply contract to deliver 40GWh of renewable energy annually, equivalent to the power demand of 15,000 UK homes.

Galaxy acquired Redhill in January and embarked on a £10m multi-year upgrade program to make it a clean energy leader in UK data centers and a hub for high-performance computing and AI workloads. Clean energy for the campus will be provided by UrbanChain, a UK-based renewable energy trading platform that ensures direct traceability to the origin of renewable sources, rather than unlinked certificates.

Through its partnership with Zendo, Galaxy is turning data center power into a source of competitive advantage and a catalyst for renewable energy adoption. Existing clients, including global financial services firms, AI and SaaS providers, will see their energy costs cut by up to 30% by the beginning of 2026. New customers will also be able to reap the benefits of a ground-breaking deal.

Ash Gupta, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Galaxy Data Centers, said: “Our partnership with Zendo reflects the determination of both companies to overcome some of the biggest challenges facing the data center market today. We’re proud to be leading the charge in setting new industry standards for efficiency, sustainability and technological innovation, beginning with this traceable contract. It offers a compelling model for any enterprise evaluating their colocation and hosting options.”

Jade Batstone, CEO and Co-Founder of Zendo Energy, said: “Galaxy shares our vision for the future of digital infrastructure that is clean, efficient, and flexible. We look forward to continuing this partnership and building on these foundations together.”

Already home to several Fortune 500 companies, Redhill’s transformation showcases Galaxy’s data center strategy, combining direct renewable energy sourcing, an innovative Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), and a commitment to AI-ready infrastructure.

Zendo is building the first ‘Energy OS’, enabling operators to forecast demand, secure customized energy tariffs and adapt to the unpredictable demands of AI workloads. Galaxy plans to leverage Zendo’s technology as the partnership continues to expand.
